May 28, 2492, 12:55 PM By Hart Felix| Orbital News Network A concerning increase of attacks on local Cocoon businesses have occurred by people calling themselves Demons. In response, there have been rumors that the infamous Hidden Demons are denying such attacks and claim this is a new gang surfacing. It is still not clear if this is true, as there have been no claimed attacks on any Chinatown businesses. So far there seems to be no pattern in what businesses are attacked, other than that they are all in Cocoon. So far Queen's Pub, ModTek, Purgatory, and Bunkr are all victims of these attacks. Witnesses at several of these businesses describe similar events. Each mentions a group of scruffy looking thugs entering the establishments and asking for the managers. These thugs claim to be collectors for “the Demons” and demand the businesses pay a weekly tithe. These requests would then devolve into threats, pointing guns at patrons, and trashing the establishments. So far, the 'the tough gets going' mentality of Cocoon’s citizens have lead to these thugs getting chased off or beaten down by employees and regular customers that did not take these threats lightly. Despite the Hidden Demons claiming no responsibility for these criminals, it brings to question why the attackers claim to be and have not touched Chinatown, a known territory of them. Those that survived are currently being treated at GT+T and held for questioning. Hopefully the investigation will clear up any uncertainties, after which they will answer for their crimes. May 24, 2492, 3:04 PM By Hart Felix| Orbital News Network The Odin, an ARES convoy of material from an orbital refinery, has gone down in flames on its way to the floating city of Neu London. It is suspected the vessel had an explosion originating from improper storage, causing casualties. As a medical transport was deployed to tend to the wounded, a pirate ship had attacked just in time. A coincidence that makes authorities suspect the original explosion was done in a plot to overtake the vessel. Then causing heavier damage to The Odin and attempting to steal the resources of the convoy. Strangely enough, there are reports of an unknown fighter vessel that came to the rescue and drove the pirate ship off. Authorities have no reports of the identity of this fighter ship, and no one has come forward in claiming responsibility. Authorities have been able to identity the pirate ship as The Raven, originally a transport ship reported missing months ago. A bounty has been place on The Raven and its crew, for 1 Million Credits. The bounty is of no surprise given the piracy activity increasing among previous reports. The Raven is now considered a highly dangerous vessel, and any citizens who are not seeking this bounty should stay away and report to local military or mercenary corporations to handle. May 18, 2492, 8:55 AM By Hart Felix| Orbital News Network One of the few XR-9 prototypes had began to catch the public's eye in the music industry for both good and bad reasons. The unit goes by the name Xavier, and had grown in popularity under MGM's wings of marketing and venues. Opinions varied from fear of how realistic the android looked, displaying supposed passion about the music on stage. This caused many citizens to worry about the capabilities of rogues being able to blend in with humans, and if synthetics should be required to have distinct tell tales for public safety. On the other hand, the singer had grown a large fanbase, including groupies, who gawked over the droid and its shy and amusing "personality" during interviews. The singer was most popular for its indie music, mainly with traditional instruments of piano and guitar with soft electronic beats. Although things seemed to go downhill as popularity grew and Xavier went on tour. Music style going from a sad and haunting like tone that some argue had very political lyrics, to more alternative rock where lyrics leaned on more pop subjects of drugs and relationships. From songs like, "In My Body" that described the supposed struggles of being synthetic to, "Everybody Gets High" may give hint to the reason the popular singer dropped off the map for nearly a year. Did even a synthetic fall into the partying and drugs of celebrityhood? There have been rumors the android had actually dropped off to go to rehab for drug addiction. Whatever the reason, if brings to question if that was why MGM had sold the android off. That's right, the synthetic was last seen both at Free Company in Cocoon Station and bartending at Eden on Luna Colony. Apparently working multiple jobs as even a mercenary to survive. It is unknown if MGM had simply sold off the android to Free Company. Although it brings question if this is the end of the android's career. Many think this is why the arts should stick to humans only, where passion feels more real and natural. This is Hart Felix, keeping you in the loop on ONN News.
